Lynn is a champion of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion with over 30 years experience at senior level in the education and Skills sector, primarily in engineering and STEM sectors. Lynn was UK operations director for Semta the Sector Skills Council for science, engineering and advanced manufacturing.
Previously Chair of Skills 4, one of the UK’s leading diversity and inclusion providers and now a trainer and mentor. working with global companies to support career progression for under represented groups.
Lynn has held various Board positions and was a founding Trustee and chair of the UK Electronics Skills Foundation (UKESF) a charity which encourages young people, particularly girls to take up careers in electronics, a Board member of Policy Connect, the leading network of Parliamentary groups; research commissions; forums and campaigns working to inform and improve UK public policy.
A director of Hexham Racecourse, an avid horse racing fan and race horse owner, Lynn was also a Committee member of Women in Racing leading on their Bursary awards to support skills development and career progression.
She was the first ever woman Vice President of the Ship Building, Ship Repair Association and the Chair of Northumberland College leading the successful merger with Sunderland College.
