I started my career in the recruitment industry firstly working as an IT recruitment consultant then moving into recruitment advertising with The Scotsman newspaper where I relocated from Edinburgh to Manchester as their Provincial Recruitment Manager, after 5 years in Manchester and with the change of print to online advertising, I relocated back to Scotland to work in the public sector for Careers Scotland advising school leavers on job and further education opportunities. Having always been passionate about racing and horses I decided to pursue a career within the horse racing industry and joined Godolphin in 2004 to work in the Nominations Department as Bloodstock Accounts Manager responsible for the financial side of nomination sales.
I undertook our in-house Mentoring Programme which provided excellent in-depth training resulting in 1-2-1 mentoring with Godolphin employees, the programme and subsequent mentoring provided skills which are valuable not only in the working environment but also within personal situations.
In my spare time I volunteer for the East Anglian Pony Racing Authority which gives me the opportunity to engage with the next generation of our industry and I am always inspired by their enthusiasm and horsemanship displayed on race days.
