Helene Sharrock is the Chief People at The Jockey Club. Having spent 20+ years working in roles in People and Culture across a variety of industries (including Media, Telecoms, Sports Entertainment and Retail), Helene is passionate about working with businesses to achieve their competitive best through their people.
She grew up in South East London and went to a large London comprehensive school. Having spectacularly failed her A Levels she took some time out, retook, and went on to achieve a 2:1 degree in Educational Psychology at Nottingham Trent University. Helene later studied at night school whilst working to achieve an MA in Personnel and Development (MAPD – CIPD level 7). This experience has made her passionate about alternative pathways into achievement and ensuring that the businesses she supports lead with an open mind on talent entry pathways. She still lives in South East London, with her husband and two school age children.
Strengths:
Having worked in People and Culture roles throughout her career (in a variety of industries), Helene’s approach to mentoring is grounded in a ‘person first’ approach. Thinking about the gifts and strengths that each unique person has to draw upon to support their performance and career development. Her particular areas of expertise are Leadership, Management, and Change. She is personable, and has a holistic coaching style.
