David Letts

Known for his clarity, empathy and collaborative style, David supports mentees to build confidence, navigate career challenges, and identify purposeful next steps. A focus on understanding the individual is key to his approach. He leads by example, bringing authenticity, professionalism and a learning mindset to every mentoring relationship.
David is currently employed as Shared Ownership Lead at the Racehorse Owners Association where he oversees multiple concurrent workstreams, ensuring that this important stakeholder group is appropriately represented within the sport. With a strong background in strategy development, programme delivery and relationship management, he brings a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to his work.
Alongside his professional role, David holds several voluntary positions within horseracing, contributing to the development and oversight of the sport’s EDI efforts. He chairs racing’s LGBTQ+ network, Racing With Pride, and sits as a member of the sport’s Diversity Advisory Group. He is deeply committed to building trusted relationships, influencing cultural change and creating safe spaces that elevate marginalised voices.
His academic background includes a PhD exploring Organisational Culture and masculinities within British horseracing. He has also completed an MBA, where his research explored the experiences of sexual minorities within the racing industry.
