Cheryl has over 25 years experience in the racing industry. She is Head of Operations at the European Breeders’ Fund (EBF), the largest sponsor in British racing, as well as the current Mentoring Lead on the Women in Racing Committee.
Originally from Bristol, Cheryl comes from a non-racing background. With a passion for horses from a young age she originally planned to train as a riding instructor but, having been bitten by the racing bug, moved to Newmarket to take up a place on the renowned National Stud Diploma course and later worked as a stud hand at Darley.
Having worked in both practical and administrative roles within racing, Cheryl can offer advice and support to those looking to move roles within racing with particular focus on the bloodstock side of the industry.
As a mum to two primary school-aged children she is able to advise women navigating pregnancy, return from maternity leave and life as a working mum. She is also keen to support women who may be navigating fertility issues as having had personal experience around this, feels that it is an often overlooked area.
