Alison Horan

For as long she can remember, horses have played a major part in Ali’s life, from her days as a member of the Burghley Pony Club, to being the driving force behind the establishment of Polo as a recognised, and now thriving, sport at the University of St Andrews, where she graduated in 2004.
She has a post graduate diploma in digital marketing and has worked as a marketeer in the racing and breeding Industry for 18 years.
After graduating from university, she travelled to Australia and had her first taste of the racing and breeding world – working for Inglis auction house in Sydney as marketing assistant, then moving to Melbourne to work at the Victoria Racing Club in the membership/ marketing team.
On her return to the UK, she took on the role of marketing co-ordinator at Darley – now Godolphin – and since then she has held several senior positions within the company. She has been the Global Head of Marketing for the past six years.
Ali works with, and manages and develops, teams in Europe, the US, Australia, and Japan. Her role comprises brand promotion, stallion marketing, charities promotion and communications, fan engagement, global partnerships, PR and internal communications.
The role also involves the creation and presentation of marketing, communications and commercial strategies to key stakeholders.
She has completed numerous courses on team development and can offer advice and support in this area.
As a mother to two young boys, she understands the challenges of balancing work and raising children and so is keen to support other mothers working in this Industry.
